Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
