The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and gathered his people together 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
