Say thou; my Lord! if Thou wilt shew me that wherewith they are threatened. 93 My Lord! then place me not among the wrong-doing people. 94 And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned. 95 Repel evil with the best deeds; We well know the matters that they fabricate. 96 Say, "Lord, I seek your protection against the strong temptations of the devils. 97 and I seek refuge with Thee, O my Sustainer, lest they come near unto me!" 98 Until, when death comes to one* of them, he says, “O my Lord, send me back!” (The disbelievers) 99 That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected. 100 Then, when the trumpet [of resurrection] is blown, no ties of kinship will on that Day prevail among them, and neither will they ask about one another. 101 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy,- they will attain salvation: 102 But those whose scales are light - those are the ones who have lost their souls, [being] in Hell, abiding eternally. 103 The fire will scorch their faces and they will be groaning therein in pain. 104 "Were not My messages read out to you? But you denied them." 105 They will say: "O Lord, our misery overwhelmed us, so we remained a people astray. 106 O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out of this [suffering] - and then, if ever We revert [to sinning,] may we truly be [deemed] evildoers!" 107 He shall say: slink away there unto, and speak not unto Me. 108 "A part of My servants there was, who used to pray 'our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us, and have mercy upon us: For Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" 109 But you ridiculed them. So much so that out of (spite) for them you forgot to remember Me and laughed at them. 110 Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day for their patient endurance - that they are the attainers [of success]." 111 They will be asked: "How long did you live on the earth in terms of years?" 112 They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who keep account." 113 He will say: "Ye stayed not but a little,- if ye had only known! 114 Deem ye that We have created you in vain and that unto Us ye are not to be returned? 115 Exalted then be God, the King, the Real. There is no god but He, the Lord of the glorious throne. 116 And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allah, any other ilah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kafirun (the disbelievers in Allah and in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful. 117 So say: "O my Lord! grant Thou forgiveness and mercy for Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" 118
