Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Ha, Meem. 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
