The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
