The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
