But the leaders of his people who denied the truth and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, because We had granted them ease and plenty in their worldly life, said, "This is only a human being like yourselves, he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink, 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 What! does he threaten you that when you are dead and become dust and bones that you shall then be brought forth? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 [And God] would say: "After a little while they will surely be smitten with remorse!" 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Musa and his brother Haroun, with Our communications and a clear authority, 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 They said: "Shall we believe in two men like ourselves? And their people are subject to us!" 47 So they belied them, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
