Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
