And those who disbelieve say: we shall by no means believe in this Qur'an nor in that which hath been before it. Would that thou couldst see when the wrong-doers shall be made to stand before their Lord! They shall cast back the word one to another; those who were deemed weak will say unto those who were stiff-necked: had it not been for you, surely we should have been believers. 31 The arrogant ones will say to those who had been despised: "Was it we who kept you back from Guidance after it reached you? Nay, rather, it was ye who transgressed. 32 Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "Rather, [it was your] conspiracy of night and day when you were ordering us to disbelieve in Allah and attribute to Him equals." But they will [all] confide regret when they see the punishment; and We will put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do? 33 And We did not send into a city any warner except that its affluent said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers." 34 They say, "We have more wealth and children; and we are surely not going to be punished." 35 Say: 'My Lord outspreads and straitens His provision to whomsoever He will, but most men do not know it.' 36
