The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The Hour of Resurrection drew near and the moon split asunder. 1 And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." 2 And deny, and follow their own vain desires; but every matter is determined at its time. 3 Surely there came to them narratives (of the ancient nations) that should suffice to deter (them from transgression), 4 Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not. 5 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) on the day when the Summoner summoneth unto a painful thing. 6 With looks downcast they will come forth, from the tombs, as though they were locusts scattered abroad. 7 running with outstretched necks to the Caller. The unbelievers shall say, 'This is a hard day!' 8 ۞ Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. 9 So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." 10 So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth. 11 and caused the earth to burst forth with springs, so that the waters met for a purpose pre-ordained: 12 And We bore him upon a well-planked vessel well-caulked 13 Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied. 14 And verily We left it as a token; but is there any that remembereth? 15 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 16 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 We indeed sent towards them a severe windstorm, on a day the ill luck of which lasted upon them forever. 19 it swept the people away as though they were palm-trunks uprooted: 20 And how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 21 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished! 22

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
