The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
