The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 They sat by it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
