The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
