The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
