When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 (It was) said: "By no means. Go with My signs, both of you. I am verily with you and I hear. 15 Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds, 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 "So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "And what is the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff - and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
