Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 they shall not believe in it until they see the painful punishment 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), warn your closest relatives. 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
