Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A multitude of those of old 39 And a large group from the latter. 40 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor pleasant. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- 51 shall eat the fruit of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 and you shall fill therewith your bellies 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital! 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 We have ordained death among you and We are not to be overcome, 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? 62 Ponder upon the soil you till, 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 "Nay, but we are deprived!" 67 Have you considered the water you drink? 68 Is it you who caused it to descend from the cloud, or is it We Who cause it to descend? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Consider the fire that you strike (and get by friction). 71 Did you make its timber to grow, or did We make it? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
