Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
WE SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them. 1 He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you: 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,- 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" 20
