Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And chosen goblets. 14 And cushions lined up 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
