The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
