And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79
