And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
