and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 These people say, 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
