The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
