Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous, 6 who created you, formed you and proportioned you? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 watching over you 11 who know all that you do: 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 The day on which no soul shall control anything for (another) soul; and the command on that day shall be entirely Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
