Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 laboring, wornout, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And chosen goblets. 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
