Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 watching over you 11 They know what you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
