Hast thou not seen those who wrangle concerning the revelations of Allah, how they are turned away? - 69 Those who cry lies to the Book and that wherewith We sent Our Messengers -- soon they will know! 70 When around their necks will be shackles and chains; they will be dragged. – 71 into boiling water, then, into the Fire they shall be poured. 72 And then they will be asked: "Where now are those [powers] to which you were wont to ascribe divinity 73 Apart from God?" They will answer: "They have left us in the lurch and fled. In fact it was nothing that we prayed to before." That is how God sends the unbelievers astray. 74 this is an outcome of your having arrogantly exulted on earth without any [concern for what is] right, and of your having been so full of self-conceit! 75 Enter the gates of Gehenna, to dwell therein forever.' How evil is the lodging of those that are proud! 76 So be thou patient; surely God's promise is true. Whether We show thee a part of that We promise them, or We call thee unto Us, to Us they shall be returned. 77 We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods. 78
