Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O thou enwrapped! 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 of one-half thereof - or make it a little less than that, 3 Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited. 4 Behold, We shall bestow upon thee a weighty message 5 Surely getting up at night is the best means of subduing the self and is more suitable for uprightness in speech. 6 whereas by day a long chain of doings is thy portion. 7 But keep in remembrance the name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him whole-heartedly. 8 (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs). 9 And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while. 11 With Us are Fetters (to bind them), and a Fire (to burn them), 12 and food that chokes, and a painful chastisement, 13 On the Day when the earth with all its mountains quake and the mountains become heaps of shifting sand. 14 BEHOLD, [O men,] We have sent unto you an apostle who shall bear witness to the truth before you, even as We sent an apostle unto Pharaoh: 15 but Pharaoh rebelled against the Messenger, so We seized him remorselessly. 16 Then how shall ye, if ye deny (Allah), guard yourselves against a Day that will make children hoary-headed?- 17 the Day whose severity shall cause the heaven to split asunder? Allah's promise is ever bound to be fulfilled. 18 Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord. 19
