It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 With which He makes crops grow, and olives, dates and grapes and fruits of every kind for you. In this is a sign for those who think. 11 He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the sun and the moon; and the stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise. 12 And the things He has created for you in the earth, of numerous colours; indeed in this is a sign for people who remember. 13 And He it is who has made the sea subservient [to His laws,] so that you might eat fresh meat from it, and take from it gems which you may wear. And on that [very sea] one sees ships ploughing through the waves, so that you might [be able to] go forth in quest of some of His bounty, and thus have cause to be grateful [to Him]. 14 And He has placed firm mountains on the earth lest it should move away from you, and has made rivers and tracks that you may find your way, 15 And landmarks (signposts, etc. during the day) and by the stars (during the night), they (mankind) guide themselves. 16 Is the One who can create equal to the one who cannot create anything? Why, then, will you not consider? 17 If you tried to count God's blessings, you would never be able to number them. God is ever forgiving and most merciful. 18 God knows what you hide and disclose. 19 Those unto whom they cry beside Allah created naught, but are themselves created. 20 Dead are they, not alive; and they perceive not when they will be raised up. 21
