S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Sad: By the Qur'an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth). 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." 5 Their assembly left (saying): 'Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means! 10 Here there is a host of the confederates only to be defeated. 11 Cried lies before them the people of Noah, and Ad, and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
