Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
