Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
