The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 pay their religious tax 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 (but whosoever seeks after more than that, those are the transgressors) 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
