Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 Till a limit known? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
