The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
