Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 and rejects what is right, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 He verily will be content. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.
