Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O people! guard against (the punishment from) your Lord; surely the violence of the hour is a grievous thing. 1 when that Day comes, every suckling mother shall forsake her infant and every pregnant woman shall cast her burden and everyone will appear intoxicated, although they are not: the punishment of God will be severe indeed. 2 And among people are some who argue concerning Allah without knowing, and blindly follow every rebellious devil. 3 (The devil) Upon whom is decreed that whoever befriends him, he will certainly mislead him and show him the path to hell. 4 O mankind! if ye are in doubt concerning the Resurrection, then lo! We have created you from dust, then from a drop of seed, then from a clot, then from a little lump of flesh shapely and shapeless, that We may make (it) clear for you. And We cause what We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed time, and afterward We bring you forth as infants, then (give you growth) that ye attain your full strength. And among you there is he who dieth (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the most abject time of life, so that, after knowledge, he knoweth naught. And thou (Muhammad) seest the earth barren, but when We send down water thereon, it doth thrill and swell and put forth every lovely kind (of growth). 5 That is because Allah, He is the Truth, and it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who is Able to do all things. 6 And [that they may know] that the Hour is coming - no doubt about it - and that Allah will resurrect those in the graves. 7 And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him], 8 Bending his neck, that he may lead astray from the way of Allah; his shall be humiliation in the world, and We shall make him taste on the Day of Judgment the torment of burning. 9 This is due to what your two hands have sent before, and because Allah is not in the least unjust to the servants. 10
