The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
