The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
