Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after Hoarding (Al-Takaathur) before The Disbelievers (Al-Kaaferoon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Beholdest thou him who belieth the Requital? 1 That is the one who treats the orphan with harshness, 2 And encourages not the feeding of the indigent. 3 So ruin is to those offerers of prayer – 4 But who are oblivious of their moral duties, 5 those who want only to be seen and praised, 6 Who are uncharitable even over very small things. 7

True are the words of God the Almighty.
