Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
