Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Wherein are couches raised 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions ranged 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
