Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 What, would they then say: 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
