The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise, and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And all defilement shun! 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he thought; 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
