Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
