And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
