The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
