Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know all that you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
