So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 So set out with your family in a watch of the night, and keep yourself behind them, and no one of you may turn around, and keep going ahead as you have been commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
